Flowers of the Orient Dance Company

The Flowers of the Orient Dance Company was established in 2002 with the objective of presenting oriental dance as a living art form and to raise the level of awareness of Arabic culture and dance. Company members, Zuhra, Oracle and Fatina are extensively trained in oriental dance. Under the artistic direction of founder, Zuhra the troupe exhibits colorful performances consisting of a diverse repertoire of Middle Eastern dance featuring classical and folklore elements. The troupe members strive to meet high standards of excellence with group selections as well as in their solo performances. Since the troupe’s debut they have begun to establish a reputation of presenting a personal interpretation of Arabic music that is innovative, refined, and strong.

The Flowers of the Orient Dance Ensemble is a collaborative effort between the Flowers of the Orient Dance Company and acclaimed Atlanta dancers – Amani Jabril, Amira, Aziza Nawal, Gina and Najmah. Their goal is to present polished and professional international dance shows introducing their audiences that are new and those that are familiar to the world of oriental dance. The group demonstrates examples of a variety of dances from the Arab regions - complete with exotic music, colorful costumes, makeup, and well-rehearsed dancers who perform with consummate professionalism. Flowers of the Orient Dance Ensemble combines modern with oriental and takes their audiences on an enchanted journey of belly dance inspired by the traditional dances of the Middle East and North Africa.
